The clean-tech home of the future

Concept Hopuse

  1. Counter-top devices with purification engines integrated into them, the examples here are a counter-top water purifier like Elixir and a coffee-maker using water from an HVR purification engine
  2. Water purification driven by solar power. Hot water from the solar collectors collects in an accumulator tank and drive s the HVR purification engine.
  3. Water purification driven by hot water from a heat-exchanger water heater.

Driving trends

Three trends will drive the development of the home of the future: urbanization, water supply challenges and rising energy prices

The changing role of electricity

Electricity is high value energy source. Using it as a heating source is seen by clean-tech developers as a waste. In the new clean-tech future, electricity will drive control equipment, lighting, and heat pumps. By driving heat pumps, you can get up to 8 times the amount of energy for every unit of electrical energy you put in.

Electricity will be used, not to heat water or homes, but as the high-quality energy source it is. Electricity will power pumps and heat exchangers which in turn will provide hot water and heat and cooling for the home.
